We Love Tutoring: A Tale of Inspiration and Dedication

Greetings from the heart of our tutoring haven! I am thrilled to share my personal story – a narrative woven with a deep passion for teaching, a husband's unwavering support, and a commitment to kindling the flames of knowledge within the Flat Bush community and its neighbouring areas.

I am Maria Theresa Gutierrez, the driving force behind this endeavour, fuelled by an unyielding love for education and a genuine desire to nurture young minds. Life took an unexpected yet beautiful turn as I temporarily stepped into the world of my husband's cleaning business, extending a helping hand. However, the embers of my teaching passion never ceased to burn, and it was my husband's encouragement that rekindled the fire. His belief in my abilities transformed a shared dream into reality – a dream that offers a unique, holistic, and joyful learning experience. We officially opened our doors in the vibrant community of Flat Bush in Term 2 of 2023, and it has been an incredible journey of growth and discovery ever since.

As a seasoned educator, I am acutely aware of the profound impact education has on shaping futures. This awareness gave rise to a remarkable mission – to establish a nurturing haven where students can flourish academically and personally. Our humble abode has been transformed into a sanctuary of knowledge, a place where curiosity thrives, and where students embark on a journey of growth.

What sets us apart is the personal touch that underlines everything we do. With every interaction, every lesson, and every smile, our commitment to personalized learning shines through. I am here not just as a tutor but as a mentor, a guide, and a partner in each child's educational voyage.  My journey has been shaped by the incredible experiences and the guidance of the esteemed tuition center in China and here in New Zealand where I had the privilege to work. It is with a heart full of gratitude that I acknowledge the invaluable lessons learned and the inspiration I gained from my mentors and colleagues there. They have truly been my guiding lights, and their influence has driven me to create a nurturing space that values every child's potential.

A Journey of Learning - While I may not be a registered teacher in New Zealand, I bring with me seven years of experience teaching English and three years of dedicated tutoring in both Mathematics and English. As a devoted mother, I've taken it upon myself to understand the intricacies of the NZ curriculum, and I've embraced the opportunity to learn from others within the community. This knowledge not only enriches my teaching but also allows me to share insights with parents and students, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
